However, you can try cutting all the mids and highs with an EQ and trying to isolate as much of the low frequencies as possible. Only problem is you'll get a lot of kick and muddy guitar sounds. For bass isolation it struggles more but can still do it (good for working out basslines and lowering the bass in a completed track but you wouldn't use it on its own as a bass solo!).
