WebDec 21, 2013 · Getting ready to get my new E-rated tires mounted and balanced. I tow a fairly heavy toy hauler and am off-road hunting often. I chose E- rated to withstand the rough Az. back roads and the peace of mind when towing. The tire dealer and I weighed the OEM P tires and the new E tires with the E's weighing about 6 pounds more per tire.

Most of the time a P rated tire will have a higher load capacity than a LT-C (6 ply) rated tire. The P rated tires generally are more likely to have a tread warranty.
