WebMar 8, 2008 · Flat top pistons on a 466 with D3 heads will be closer to about 9.6:1 compression ratio. Put D0VE heads on that shortblock and you'll be at about 11.4:1. The CJ heads are nioce but will be a mistake in your application; the D0VEs would be much better (I have proven this over and over again). WebDec 27, 2002 · The nicest thing about the D3VE heads is that you can play with your compression ratios a little more. The earlier castings gave you high compression raios. For instance I have a D1VE block out of a 76 Lincoln with D3VE heads. I am putting flat top pistons with 8 cc valve notches in them.
